Food as medicine
Good diet and lifestyle habits are key to finding balance in Life. In Ayurveda food can be medicine in that a freshly prepared, balanced meal will nurture health in the body. In the same way food can be toxic, in that highly refined / fast food puts a strain on the body. The human body is unique in that, there are subtle differeces in the way each one process food. Therefore what you eat, according to your individual constitution, is very important. Good lifestyle habits are also essential if we are to address any imbalance in life.
Imbalance shows up in the form of difficult emotions, such as stress and anxiety. It also shows up in physical forms, such as a general fatigue, or lack of enthusiasm for life. Perhaps there's a difficulty in switching off, mentally, or difficulty with sleeping. Some of these issues are the result of ineffective eating habits, and excess toxins stored in the body. Some are the result of habitual self-neglect, and poor lifestyle habits.
Working with Ayurvedic Lifestyle consultancy, and Treatments, it is possible to correct imbalances, and cleanse the system. It is possible to introduce new, effective lifestyle habits, in a way that works in harmony with daily life. Applying Ayurveda in this way is very supportive in restoring and overall balance to the system. This balance reflects in greater mental clarity, emotional calm, and physical well-being.
What to expect?
The first stage of consultation is used to make a thorough assessment of your current lifestyle, and diet. In this stage is for information gathering, which, along with Pulse and Tongue diagnosis, help to establish your natural constitution. Any imbalances will also be identified, and their causes explained to you.
The second stage is used to discuss and introduce the possibility of change in lifestyle and diet. A plan will be created to address any imbalance, and pave the way for a smooth integration of new diet and lifestyle habits into your daily life.
The third stage is used to suggest and exercises, such as yoga asanas (postures), and breathwork (pranayama), that may support you. Treatment may also be recommended, such as Ayurvedic massage, Shirodhara and Swedana. There will also be time to answer any remaining questions you may have.
